The projects we present are an example of perfect integration between the worlds of luxury and well-being. Manufactured and installed by Preformati Italia on the fifth floor of a building located in one of the most exclusive areas of Milan, they aim to set the standard in bringing well-being to private homes, adding intrinsic economic value to the property.
The project consists of a medium-sized hot tub located on the terrace level, a two-level platform surrounding it, and a generously sized Superior Pool installed directly on the roof of the house. Stepping out onto the balcony, you are greeted by a small flight of steps inviting you to enter the first tub. It features a unique fluid shape that encloses three comfortable hydro stations in its recesses. The overflow, hidden under the edge, is elegant and creates a continuum with the platform that surrounds the pool. Ideal for a moment of relaxation and an aperitif with friends, once inside, you can admire the roofs of historic Milan on the open side and, on the opposite side, the magnificent pearl-coloured cladding laid with extreme skill by master mosaicists and characterised by sophisticated spiral geometries. It is on this waterfall wall that the Superior pool skims the water, creating an evocative atmosphere for guests in the pool on the lower level. A second flight of stairs leads to a large terrace on the roof of the flat. Here, the client requested the installation of a second pool called ‘Superior’ due to its location and generous size of approximately 30 square metres with a maximum depth of 150 cm. The pool is equipped with numerous accessories such as an entrance staircase, hydromassage stations, counter-current swimming and alarms for accidental falls into the water. This series of optional extras makes the pool safe and ideal even for the most athletic people looking for a moment of escape from the daily routine of the city.
The Klimapool technique, developed over more than 15 years of experience by the company team, led the client to choose Preformati Italia over other companies that use more traditional technologies. The use of high-density EPS as a raw material made it possible to customise the shapes of the two pools, which would not have been easy to reproduce with more traditional materials such as reinforced concrete, steel and fibreglass. Furthermore, the lightness of the material has led to easier handling on site and a reduction in the weight bearing on the building's supporting structure. In addition to the numerous properties derived from the use of EPS, we can also add a high degree of thermal insulation which, especially in the winter months, ensures significant energy savings. Finally, the pre-installation of the systems directly in the company's factories has significantly reduced installation times. This fantastic achievement is not simply an exercise in style, but a clear example of how relaxation can be brought into private homes, ensuring an improvement in quality of life and property value, as well as a definite increase in the economic value of the latter.
