Preformati Italia filled an important gap by inventing Klimapool: the first system that brings energy efficiency to the world of swimming pools, just as it already happens for buildings. Inspired by European Directives 2002/91/EC and 2010/31/EU, Klimapool introduces a clear methodology to evaluate and compare the energy efficiency of pools, offering designers and clients an innovative tool to choose the most sustainable construction solutions.

Why classify
pools?

To date, there is no official energy certification for pools.

Klimapool is not a certification, but a voluntary classification that measures the energy performance of the pool shell. The goal is to provide a comparison tool for designers and clients, both in the design and construction phases.

After the Klimapool intervention, the pool benefits from a significant reduction in operating costs.

Thanks to the use of innovative materials such as EPS, a rigid and lightweight expanded material, the structure becomes more efficient. EPS, made of carbon and hydrogen atoms, is characterized by closed cells that trap air, improving thermal insulation. This production process uses steam and pentane, which volatilizes at the end of expansion, resulting in blocks and sheets of small welded spherical beads.
