The Hotel Cosmea, located in Ortisei in the heart of Val Gardena is an example of an accommodation structure that has renovated its wellness area, to exploit it as an attraction for modern tourists. The ArtDomus Studio involved Preformati Italia in the production and installation of the Jacuzzi and the Steam Room both custom-made according to the specifications provided by the designer. The choice of using EPS as raw material has left the designer complete freedom to express himself, reducing the customization costs and ensuring an incomparable speed of assembly with concrete or fiberglass.
The Hot Tub in EPS
The jacuzzi, with a diameter of 352cm and a height of about 134cm, for a total of 95 cm of water has been inserted inside a room, also circular, able to give guests a wide view to the outside thanks to the bright window. The hydromassage system consists of an air blower installed in the technical room, which feeds a total of 54 vents placed on the seat and 20 in the plantar area.
The Klimapool construction method mixes the use of polymeric material with an armed supporting structure completely integrated in the pool and therefore invisible from the outside. This allowed to build the hot tub without the aid of external containment walls and to maintain its “aesthetic lightness”.
The Mininal Steam Bath
The Turkish bath installed inside the wellness area of the hotel measures about 300 x 250cm for a total height of 300cm. It is characterized by a modern and minimal line. The designer has in fact decided to take inspiration from essential and square shapes. The prefabricated EPS structures produced on factory by Preformati Italia, used for the realization of the Steam Bath have allowed to preinstall part of the technical equipment before the arrival on construction site reducing then the time of installation of the spa of 30%. Only 7 days were in fact needed to bring the Steam Room to the waterproofing stage.
